When you create. It’s actual magic. The thing appears right before your ears and eyes, a moment ago it didn’t exist and then there it is. Creation is a beautiful word as it eliminates any chance for competition. So when we create we are not competing with any one or any thing. You are not taking anything from anyone you are starting from scratch, creating. This is a truly wonderful thing. But it’s addictive. The first time you hear that song, or singer, or guitarist, or drummer and it captivates you. Then you think “I want to do that”. You are hooked and you will never be free.

It happened to me and here I am all these years later still doing it, still creating, improving advancing.

It started at school. My friend says “Have you ever listened to Led Zeppelin?” He lent me Zeppelin 4. My life was never the same again. I loved every note on that record. I learnt to sing ‘Black dog’. My friend Davy Parker heard me singing it he says “I didn’t know you could sing”. I says “Neither did I!”

School bands, then first real bands, then bands with people who could actually play! Irish tours, U.K tours then Europe, music has even taken me to America. I have to say looking back it has been fun.

Making an album is a wonderful experience. But you have to smart, you have to be sure of what

you want and don’t settle for anything less or it will haunt you forever. I’ve made two albums: I am a tree (2002) and Everyone (2020). There was a lot of music recorded in between but these are the albums with my name on them.

In recent years I have learnt to record myself, a really wonderful thing on so many levels, but it does nothing for your social life or relationships, my wife is very supportive and understanding. Helping, producing someone else’s creation is an altogether different thing as it should be. It’s their creation not yours, but as a producer with experience you can guide, offer assistance but ultimately it’s not your seed to nurture.

So on this site you can listen to my music and read the blogs of a 56 year old songwriter, you can even buy a t shirt if you like.

You are very welcome here and thank you for taking the time.
